Financial Controller Introduction:

We’re looking for a Financial Controller to help us plan and meet financial goals. This position gives you a ‘seat at the table’ as we develop our financial strategy. The Controller will assist with accounting and record-keeping as well as management of other finance activities. You’ll also manage our amazing accounting team and support them with tasks when needed.

Financial Controller Responsibilties:

This role reports to our CFO. Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all financial and accounting operations, reporting, and procedures
  • Monitor internal controls
  • Manage personnel who maintain the day-to-day accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, expense reports & reimbursements and payroll
  • Work alongside our CFO and CEO to develop strategic, operational and financial planning and modeling
  • Assist HR with hiring in the finance department
  • Provide and present status reports for stakeholders and management
  • Support the accounting team with audit and tax process, reporting, and payment
  • Oversee the legal, insurance, and financial risk management for the company
  • Support our month-end and year-end close process

Financial Controller Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, with a focus in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA designation required for this role
  • Experience developing financial strategy
