Scheduled maintenance

We are continuously updating Alongside to provide an excellent product and experience for our users. Most updates take place with no downtime at all. In cases where some downtime is required we keep it to an absolute minimum, typically between 10 to 20 minutes.

Any scheduled downtime is announced at least one business day in advance and is scheduled during off-peak hours, typically Sunday evenings.

Server

Our entire cloud-based platform is running on Microsoft Azure.

Alongside runs independently on a load balancer with multiple web servers and master/slave database configuration for maximum performance and uptime.

Backup process

Data backups are completed on a daily basis and stored on Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) where these backups are stored for 30 days and then automatically moved over to Amazon Glacier for long-term storage.

Credit card data

Credit card information is encrypted on the client using our payment gateway, Stripe. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification. Alongside does not store ANY Credit Card data. Encryption is 256 AES (Advance Encryption Standard).
