Program Director Responsibilties:

In this role, you will report to the _________________. Responsibilities will include::

  • Ensuring overall programming is delivered in a safe, positive, and empowering manner
  • Managing our annual budget and cash flow, financial records, etc.
  • Maintaining confidential personnel and client records
  • Ensuring our programs comply with legislation and safety standards
  • Setting annual objectives and goals for our organization according to our mission and values
  • Corresponding and sending updates to our stakeholders
  • Writing and submitting funding proposals
  • Attending executive board and stakeholder meetings
  • Preparing and presenting update reports to the board on objectives, budget, etc.
  • Hosting fundraisers and other events
  • Promoting our organization in the community and looking for ways to further connect or participate in events, fundraisers, etc.
  • Monitoring and posting to our social media accounts as needed
  • Acting as a media spokesperson for our organization when required
  • Sourcing, training, and supervising volunteers that help with our programming
  • Ensuring all staff and volunteers have proper training and certifications (as needed)
  • Overseeing the Program Coordinator and assisting with any staffing issues should they arise
  • Evaluate programs, present findings to the board, and make adjustments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Program Director Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a relevant area of study
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Leadership skills and patience
  • Experience working with program management
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is also mandatory
  • Must complete a Criminal Record Check
  • First-Aid Certification and Crisis Intervention Training would be considered assets
